Silver medal for Stoneburn’s Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013 at the New Zealand International Wine Show.
Formed in 2005, the New Zealand International Wine Show is firmly established as the largest wine competition held in New Zealand each year. Wines from any country and made from any variety can be entered. Over 2000 wines were entered in the 2013 show.
“The 2013 vintage Sauvignon Blanc has herbaceous characteristics that are balanced by the riper tropical fruit aromas with hints of peppers. The palate is classic with herbaceous hints that combine well to form a well-structured wine with a full palate. The finish is crisp and refreshing” says Stoneburn winemaker James Macdonald.
For the Stoneburn Sauvignon Blanc we try to preserve all the fresh fruit characters from the
vineyard, as we only get one attempt each year, we believe it is essential to study all the fruit very carefully before making that major decision of when to harvest says James.
